In 2021, over 5,000 people joined the festivities. Mayor Doug Sprouse proclaimed OneCommunity Reads, UnaComunidad Leyendo, Lights on After School and ArkanSalsa Fest Day in Springdale. Our Health, Education, and Cultural Art Fair focused on administering COVID vaccines, college awareness and on-site cultural arts projects provided by our community partner, Crystal Bridges. Children engaged in literacy activities in the “Feed Your Brain” Kid’s Zone. The Autolowgy Car Show had over 25 entries and participated in the parade. Nearly 50 non-profit organizations, local artisans and businesses provided resources for the community, while we listened to live music, learned how to dance Salsa, ate delicious food, and recognized La Vega Mexican Restaurant as the winner of the “Best Tasting Salsa” contest.
Your sponsorship assists with festival costs, scholarships, and supports our parent leadership and grade-level reading programs. Our goal is to increase attendance this year by 1,000 participants, increase participation in the Health, Education & Cultural Arts Fairs and feature more local artisans.
Through our nationally recognized initiative, OneCommunity Reads, UnaComunidad Leyendo, we served 41 Latino families through Parents Taking Leadership Action (PTLA), a program that builds upon the strengths of parents as they learn about their child’s academic world. We served a total of 181 families and 532 children. Our kids read an incredible 8,372 books during the Feed Your Brain-Alimenta Tu Cerebro Reading Program, a bilingual program aimed at promoting family literacy and reducing summer learning loss in Springdale, Fayetteville, and Rogers.
We rely on donations from supporters like you who want to help us to get our programs out to the families in our community.

ArkanSalsa Fest is an eclectic art and music festival to raise money for scholarships, our family bi-lingual reading program, and to inspire community leaders. The festival celebrates the rich diversity of Northwest Arkansas by bringing people together and offering them a chance to meet new amigos while listening to music, dancing, eating delicious food & visiting with local nonprofit organizations and businesses that benefit us all in our area.
